This year, for the third year in a row, partner Drew McCulloch, Esq. was selected as a Super Lawyers’ Rising Star. This honor is only given to a select number of attorneys in Florida based upon experience and the recommendations of fellow attorneys. We sat down with Mr. McCulloch to find out more about what it means to be recognized as a “Rising Star” and how that translates into better legal representation for his clients.
Q: How did you get selected to be a Rising Star?
Drew: It’s basically a voting process. My fellow attorneys felt that I do a first-class job handling my cases so they recommended me for this honor.
Q: Are these attorneys you work with or attorneys on the other side of your case?
Drew: Both. Any attorney can vote for this award. I strive for courtesy and professionalism. So while I’m sure many recommendations came from fellow criminal defense attorneys, I get along well with prosecutors and insurance companies and treat everyone with respect to get the best possible outcome for my clients.
Q: What does it mean to you to be selected?
Drew: It’s an honor to be chosen. I feel very lucky to practice these areas of law where I can help people, whether they’ve been arrested or injured, and maintain the respect of my peers at the same time.
Q: What does this mean for someone who hires you?
Drew: Again, I think it is important to have a good relationship with the people on the other side of the case, whether that’s a prosecutor for a DUI arrest or an insurance adjuster on a personal injury claim. You know the old saying, “You get more flies with honey…”
